Purton Neighbourhood Plan ~ updated

In 2013, there was a consultation to hear what local residents thought was important to their local community and how they wanted to see it develop.  This consultation, together with the Purton Housing Needs Survey undertaken by Wiltshire Council and the Parish Council in 2012, the Ps and Qs’ vision of Transforming Purton Parish also in 2012 and Purton’s Parish Plan in 2014, was used to develop the draft Neighbourhood Plan for Purton.

An informal consultation of parishioners was undertaken at the beginning of this year (2017) and the feedback received from that consultation has now been incorporated into this latest version of the Plan. The feedback from this new consultation will be used to inform the final version of Purton’s Neighbourhood Plan which will then be submitted to Wiltshire Council.  They will appoint a Planning Inspector to examine the Plan to ensure it complies with the legislation.

The final version will then be subject to a referendum where all residents in the parish will have a vote on the adoption of the Plan and, if passed, our Neighbourhood Plan will be enshrined into Wiltshire’s Local Development Plan and become statutory guidance for future housing development applications.

The plan and all supporting documentation can be viewed and/or downloaded from the Parish Council web site click here

Hard copies can be obtained from Purton Parish Council, Parish Clerk (clerk@purtonpc.eclipse.co.uk) or may be viewed in Purton Library or the Purton Surgery.
