Ridgeway Farm spending in Purton

Taylor Wimpey has noted in its recent letter to the “community” (Swindon residents and surrounding villages) that it will be making community contributions (known as Section 106 monies) which will include £395 580 to be spent on road improvements. These improvements are unspecified so we have to hope that some of this will be used to ease some of the likely congestion on the roads leading to the village.

There will also be £700 000 for spending on Bradon Forest School. Perhaps this is the time to suggest that this is earmarked for a new access road to the school to relieve some of the congestion in the village. Although a lot more money would be needed, this is the time to begin accumulating a fund for this potentially large expenditure. It is necessary to begin to implement the Parish Plan (which noted the need for such an access) and this £700 000 would be an excellent start.
