Despite several refusals, Widham Farm is now approved to go ahead.
Even though the Inspector admits:
“Accordingly, having regard to relevant provisions of the development plan and the Framework, the site does not represent an appropriate location for the proposed housing and employment land taken as a whole.”
He still allowed the Appeal because Wilstshire Council cannot show it has enough houses coming through during the next four years. Wiltshire Council is only short of enough houses by about 279 houses or so, right across the county.
A crazy way to manage the use of land. Nothing to do with commonsense.
