Settlement Boundary ~ still under review?

During the last few weeks I have been asked about the Settlement Boundary Review.

Conventionally, the settlement boundary sets the limit to development for a village such as ours. This means that there can be housing inside the boundary (commonly referred to as “infill”) and none on the outside (though there are some agricultural exceptions).

A review of our boundary began back in 2014. Initially there was an informal consultation, aimed at the parish and town councils, to which members of the public were not allowed to submit comments (despite serious flaws in the document). The informal consultation did provoke a large number of comments from the councils. Wiltshire Council has been busy since then addressing these, plus developing the necessary evidence base.

I understand that the revised document will come out for formal consultation which will allow all interested parties and members of the public to comment during the next two or three months, with a Public Examination later in 2016 (currently intended to be June/July, though anticipated to be delayed).
