Neighbourhood Plan ~ another update

The neighbourhood plan inches closer to publication for consultation as Wiltshire Council tries to get the necessary paperwork done. We have been waiting for some months …

The importance of getting the neighbourhood plan process of consultation was highlighted this week when the application for 25 dwellings at Land North of Pavenhill was refused by Wiltshire Council planning officers. In the Officer’s Report it stated, amongst many other reasons for refusal:

“Refusal of planning permission on grounds of prematurity will seldom be justified where a draft Local Plan has yet to be submitted for examination, or in the case of a Neighbourhood Plan, before the end of the local planning authority publicity
period.”

The neighbourhood plan currently counts for nothing. Only when we start the consultation process will it have some weight. We continue to remind Wiltshire Council of their obligations.

Meanwhile Land at Restrop is waiting in the wings and has several flaws…more on this very soon.
